Company Description
The Afghanistan Sustainable Water Supply and Sanitation (SWSS) Project seeks to increase access to potable water supply and sanitation services in poor communities, decrease the incidence of water-related diseases through household hygiene interventions, and improve the sustainable management of potable water quality and quantity in project-assisted communities. The project will also increase water supply, improve water quality, and train project beneficiaries in water system maintenance, hygiene practices, and boost community awareness of the need for water conservation and watershed protection in relation to potable water supply.
To achieve these objectives, SWSS will undertake activities including (1) technical assistance and the installation and maintenance of clean water delivery systems for communities, and (2) executing an extensive parallel health and hygiene education program for targeted beneficiaries.
