UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) is a Non Governmental, non political and a nonprofit global humanitarian aid organization.
Since its establishment in 1940, UMCOR has gained extensive experience worldwide in providing transitional development and relief assistance to communities affected by natural and human-made crises. UMCOR has established filed offices in Africa, the Caribbean, the Caucasus, and Asia. Through funding from U.S. and European government agencies, United Nations agencies, the United Methodist Church and others, UMCOR implements a wide variety of programs, including integrated assistance wherever possible, within the following sectors: health, humanitarian response and intervention, HIV/AIDS, agriculture, community development women’s empowerment, income generation, education, reconstruction, peace, building, anti-human trafficking, and demobilization, disarmament, rehabilitation and reintegration (DDRR). UMCOR NGO provides assistance by working collaboratively with local communities to assist them in restoring social stability, revitalizing community structures, and empowering their members to retake control of their lives.
